Housecalls Tutoring consists of experienced, creative, highly qualified tutors teaching all subject areas and all ages, from pre-K to college. Our tutors possess a mastery of the subject material, as well as an ability to communicate difficult ideas in a clear and concise manner. Both Dr. Hugh Gilgoff and the Housecalls team of tutors will go to great lengths to investigate the reasons behind your child's difficulty with schoolwork.

We have established relationships with most schools in the city, and can help open up communication between the teachers, the family, and our tutors. We take a team approach to learning and are willing to go the extra mile in both formulating and coordinating an effective learning plan, even writing detailed progress reports to parents and, when appropriate, your child's school. Elementary Division

In keeping with the overall mission of Housecalls Tutoring, the Elementary Division places the individual needs of our students at the very center of our work. Each family can expect a program tailored to meet its child's personal needs. With Housecalls, you'll work with an experienced mentor who is specifically selected to match your child's learning style.

When it comes to our Pre-K children, we know what schools are looking for. While we refuse to stress your child out with premature and unrealistic expectations, we will boost your child's confidence and nurture a love of learning. Through appropriate play-based activities, we'll bring out the best in your child, and help assess their strengths and weaknesses. Art, music, puppets, children's literature, math manipulatives and other materials will be used as each tutor formulates a learning plan that will stimulate and educate your youngster.
